Vision
The Instituto de Apoio à Criança is a Non-Governmental Organization that develops its action in cooperation with public and private bodies, at national and international level, which aim to implement the Rights of the Child.
Mission
The IAC intends to contribute to the Integral Development of Children in the Defense and Promotion of their Rights, with the Child being seen as a full person, subject of rights in different areas, namely in health, education, justice, social security or their free Times.

The IAC guides its action by ethics, transparency, competence, rigor, commitment and respect for the Rights of the Child.
Strategy
In fulfilling its statutory objectives, it develops multiple activities and programmes aiming, in addition to giving voice to the Child and obtaining new answers to childhood problems, to defend their rights before the family, institutions and community; carries out information and awareness programmes; supports and collaborates in innovative experiences and research aimed at the global development of children and young people and their interaction with the environment. It also promotes studies, seminars, colloquia, training actions and other initiatives that foster debate and reflection on the problems of childhood in today's society.
In compliance with its Statutes, it develops multiple activities and programmes aiming, in addition to giving voice to the Child and obtaining new answers to childhood problems, defending their rights before the family, institutions and the community, carrying out information and awareness programmes, supports and collaborates in innovative experiences and research aimed at the global development of children and young people and their interaction with the environment and promotes studies, seminars, colloquia, training actions and other initiatives that allow debate and reflection on the problems of childhood in today’s society.

Since March 1983, Instituto de Apoio à Criança has been making efforts to support and disseminate the work of all those concerned with the search for new answers to the problems of childhood in Portugal, acting as a promoter and defender of Children’s Rights, with different entities, institutions and the community in general.
